The permissions to perform certain operations in Synthesis 6 are assigned to four specific roles: End User, Content Editor, Community Manager, and Global Administrator.
All four permission roles can view intranet content and author posts and comments.
Content Editors, Community Managers, and Global Administrators can edit community content (including creating and editing pages and adding files to libraries) for the communities they’ve been assigned permissions on.
Community Managers and Global Administrators can also edit community home pages, manage community structure (including creating and configuring guides and libraries), and manage community permissions. Global Administrators can perform these tasks on all communities in Synthesis, while Community Manager permissions are granted only to specific communities.
Finally, Global Administrators can manage global configuration items such as intranet permissions, templates, branding, and creating and reordering communities and subcommunities.
For a list of global permissions that can be assigned ad hoc to specific users, see A La Carte Permissions.
