Your Learning Management System (LMS) includes two access modes—Staging Mode and Production Mode—that allow you to prepare, test, and launch your Learning Center in a controlled and intentional way.
Staging Mode
When your LMS is first enabled, it will be in Staging Mode.
In this mode, access to the Learning Center is limited to:
- Global Administrators
- Learning Center Administrators
- Specific end users who are manually granted access
This allows your team to build and refine your learning experience before rolling it out to your entire organization.
What you can do in Staging Mode
- Configure your Learning Center structure
- Create and organize courses and learning paths
- Test learner experiences, including navigation and completion flows
- Invite a pilot group of users to explore and provide feedback
Email Notifications in Staging Mode
LMS email notifications are only sent to users who have staging access, including administrators and any manually added users.
This ensures your team can fully test notifications—such as course enrollments, completions, and reminders—without sending emails to your entire organization prematurely.
Production Mode
When you are ready to launch your LMS to your full organization, you can switch to Production Mode.
In this mode:
- All active users will have access to the Learning Center
- LMS email notifications will be sent to all applicable users
What changes in Production Mode
- The Learning Center becomes fully visible across your organization
- Courses and learning paths are broadly accessible based on permissions and assignments
- Notifications are enabled at scale, supporting ongoing learning and engagement
