Why Review Video Captions Manually?
The Synthesis Accessibility Checker is designed to help you create a more inclusive and accessible intranet for all your users. One key feature within the Checker is the Video Captions tab, which enables you to review AI-generated captions for any video content native to Synthesis.
Why is this important?
While our AI-generated captions are highly accurate, manual review is crucial to fully comply with accessibility standards. Automated processes, though advanced, may occasionally miss context-specific nuances, jargon, or unique terminology common in the AEC industry. By reviewing captions manually, you ensure that all users, regardless of their abilities, can fully understand and engage with your video content.
Enhancing Searchability
In addition to improving accessibility, manually reviewed captions enhance the search functionality within Synthesis. Because video captions are indexed and searchable, correcting any errors ensures more accurate search results for users seeking specific content within videos. This dual benefit makes manual review a key step in maintaining a high-quality, user-friendly intranet.
How to Review Captions
After reviewing a video's captions for accuracy, simply check the "Caption Reviewed?" box in the corresponding row within the Accessibility Checker. This action marks the captions as reviewed and helps keep track of which videos have been fully checked.
Note: Uploading a new version of a video will reset the "Captions Reviewed?" status. The change may take up to an hour to appear in the Video Captions list in the Accessibility Checker.
