Embedding Social Media Timelines

Instagram

  1. From your web browser, open the Instagram account or post you wish to embed.
  2. Click the instagram account Settings Cog. (If you do not own the account, click the options ellipsis.)
  3. Select Embed.
  4. Click Copy embed code.
  5. Open your Synthesis site and follow the steps for Adding Embed Code from an External Site.

NOTE: The native Instagram embed disappears when users browse away and back to the page featuring the Instagram embedded feed.

The 3rd Party Instagram embed provider Light Widget (https://lightwidget.com) does not have the same limitation and loads on every visit to the page. Light Widget has a minimal one time fee of $10 (as of October 2023).

Twitter

UPDATE: Twitter is once again supporting feed embeds, however, you must be logged in to your Twitter account to view the embedded content.
