Prerequisites
The following conditions need to be met for an employee to appear in Synthesis 6 user management and employee directories:
- The employee has an Azure Active Directory (AD) user account, and
- The user is assigned to the Synthesis 6 Provisioning enterprise application in Azure AD, either directly or as a member of a provisioned group.
Troubleshoot via the Azure AD portal
If the above conditions are met and the employee still does not appear in Synthesis, follow these steps to troubleshoot:
- Open the Synthesis 6 Provisioning app in the Azure AD portal under Enterprise Applications.
- Click Provisioning from the left column.
- Click Provision on demand* from the top button bar.
- Select the user to generate their provisioning report.
- If the report says the user was ineligible to be provisioned, take whatever steps are necessary to remediate the issue.
- If the report says the user is successfully provisioned, contact support@knowledge-architecture.com.
Once provisioned successfully, it should take about 20 minutes for users to appear in the Synthesis Employee Directory.
*For additional information on Provision on Demand, see Microsoft KB Article - Provision on Demand.
Troubleshoot via User Management
If the user has access to Synthesis but there are other issues (e.g. they aren't visible in the directory), open User Management and follow these steps:
- If the site is in Staging Mode, confirm the user has been granted Staging Access.
- Confirm the user is associated with a Deltek record.*
- Confirm the user is associated with the correct Deltek record.
- The user may be associated with a previous employee who had the same email address.
- Sometimes there are duplicate employees in Deltek. Even if the employee appears to be associated with the right record, it is worthwhile to "edit" the connection and validate that there isn't another Deltek record with the same employee name.
If that still doesn't resolve the issue, contact support@knowledge-architecture.com.
* Applies to Deltek Vantagepoint, Deltek Vision, and Deltek Ajera.
