Adding a Module

Modules are collapsible containers that group lessons and quizzes into sections within a course outline. Modules are optional and can make longer courses easier for learners to scan and navigate.

  1. Open the course.

  2. Click the Course Builder icon in the utility bar to open the course content outliner.

  3. Click +Add in the Course Builder and select Add Module.

  4. Enter a name for the module.

  5. Drag and drop lessons and quizzes into the module.

  6. Drag and drop items to reorder the course outline as needed.

To add a new lesson or quiz directly inside a module, click the +Add link within the module and select Add Lesson or Add Quiz.

To rename a module, click the module options ellipsis in the Course Builder and select Edit Module Title.

Notes:

  • Modules cannot be nested inside other modules.

  • Modules appear collapsed by default for learners. A half-circle icon next to a module shows it is in progress, and a checkmark shows that all of its lessons and quizzes are complete.

  • Empty modules are not shown to learners.

  • Modules cannot be assigned, linked to directly, or moved to another course. They do not appear as separate items in search results or LMS Analytics.
